Q. How do I get a TexShare card?

To get a free TexShare card from the San Antonio Public Library (SAPL), you’ll need an active SAPL account in good standing (account balance less than $50 and no payment plans). To obtain a TexShare card:

• Visit any San Antonio Public Library Location.
• Let a staff member know you are interested in obtaining a TexShare card. 
• Provide your San Antonio Public Library card and photo ID and proof of current address – like your driver’s license. 
• There's no separate application. Staff only need to verify your information on your San Antonio Public Library card and confirm your account is in good standing (account balance less than $50 and no payment plans).

If you live outside of Bexar County and don't have a SAPL account,

• You can obtain a TexShare card from SAPL if you pay SAPL's current Out of County Library Card Fee.

OR

• You can ask your home library if they're a member of the TexShare program or visit TexShare's Find-A-Library. If you are a patron of a participating TexShare Library, you may request a TexShare card from them. Once received, bring your issued TexShare Card to any San Antonio Public Library Location to open a free, limited SAPL account with TexShare borrowing privileges.
