The catalog uses Lexile to help parents locate and select material that is appropriate for their child's measured reading level. Lexile scores are often provided by the child's school as part of their standardized assessment. Lexile is a measurement of a student/learner's independent reading level, and a Lexile range indicates a student/learner's expected independent reading level by grade level. A list of Lexile ranges can be found here: https://hub.lexile.com/lexile-grade-level-charts For more information on Lexile and associated standards, please visit the Lexile FAQ page: https://support.lexile.com/s/topic/0TO46000000cPVoGAM/student-assessments-and-measures

To use a child's Lexile range to find suitable library material, go to the catalog's Advanced Search option and enter the Lexile range for the child's grade level (or the range provided by the child's school) in the Reading Level option and click the Search button at the bottom of the page.
