  • Laptops are available for check out to use on Library property at all San Antonio Public Library Locations
  • You can borrow a laptop for up to 3 hours or up to 10 minutes prior to Library’s daily closure, whichever comes first.
  • There is no limit to the amount of checkouts in one day.
  • Laptops have internet access and a variety of pre-installed software such as Microsoft Word.
  • Wireless printing from a laptop is available.
  • Please bring a flash drive with you if you wish to save any files. You will not be able to save any files on a laptop.

 

Staff-assisted Laptop Checkout

  • At all Library locations (except Memorial Branch Library, Potranco Branch Library, Schaefer Branch Library, and Central Library) you may checkout a laptop from staff. To borrow a laptop, you must:
    • Be at least 18 years old.
    • Present to staff your Library card or accepted Photo ID substitution at time of laptop checkout.
    • Have a non-expired Library account with a balance less than $50.00 or have a monthly payment plan.
    • No current building suspensions at any San Antonio Public Library location.

 

Self-Serve Laptop Dispenser Checkout

  • Available at Memorial Branch Library, Potranco Branch Library, Schaefer Branch Library, and Central Library.
  • This device is a self-service kiosk that dispenses laptops.
  • To borrow a laptop, you must:
    • Be at least 13 years old.
    • Have your physical Library card as well as your password to your Library account.
    • Have a non-expired Library account.
    • Have a Library account balance less than $50.00. If an account balance exceeds $60.00, once the account has returned to a $0.00 balance a laptop can be checked out the following day.
    • No current building suspensions at any San Antonio Public Library location.
