If you have forgotten your password there are two ways in which you can reset your own password.

1. The email address on your library card account is how you'll be able to reset your password.

  • On the My Account log-in page, there will be a link for "forgot your password?"
  • When you click on that link, you will be sent an email (with a link in the email message) that will allow you to reset your password.  This email address is the one you have on record with your library card account.
  • The email will state:

    "Hello <Your Name>,

You recently requested a San Antonio Public Library password reset.

To complete the process, please click the following link: <LINK>

If you did not ask to have your password reset, or if you have received this message in error, please contact San Antonio Public Library: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/saplapp.
Thank you,

SAPL"

  • Clicking the link in the email will direct you to the create a new password page.  Please follow the directions on the screen and use something easy for you to remember but hard for someone else to guess.

2.  If you need assistance with this process, please see staff for assistance.  For privacy reasons, we may ask questions over the phone or in person to confirm you are the cardholder.  For accounts belonging to minors, they must be present during an in-person or telephone transaction.

If the transaction is taking place in person face-to-face, after validating a patron’s identity, staff can:

  1. Assist you with resetting your password.
  2. Walk you through using the “Forgot my password” button to reset via email.
  3. Add or change an email address to facilitate you using the “Forgot my password” feature, so that you can type your new password.
  4. If you do not have an email on record, staff can clear an old password then assist you with creating a new password.

If the transaction is taking place over the phone, after verifying card number and name, staff can:

  1. Talk you through creating your own password via “My Account”.
  2. Talk you through using the “Forgot my password” button to reset via email.
  3. If you have forgotten your password or your email is not current with the library, please come to your nearest branch with your library card so that we can update your records and assist you.
