The only difference between a basic search and an advanced one is the amount of choices for limiting the search.  A basic search allows you to limit by material type. An advanced search adds the option to limit by language, publication date, and publisher. These options for limiting the search are also available for title, author, and subject searches, but you must first do that search then click "Limit Search."
