If you have requested an item, but you want to delay when it is ready to be picked up, you can freeze the hold on that item. For example, if you are going on vacation and don't want to miss getting your requested items, you can freeze them before you leave then unfreeze them when you return.

To freeze an item:

  • Sign in to My Account
  • Click "# requests (holds)" to view your items on hold
  • Select the check-box next to the item(s) in the second column labeled "Freeze"
  • Click "Freeze Selected Items"
  • Items display with a blue background when frozen

To unfreeze an item:

  • Sign in to My Account
  • Click "# requests (holds)" to view your items on hold
  • Deselect the check-box next to the frozen item(s) in the second column labeled "Freeze"
  • Click "Unfreeze Selected Items"
  • Items display with a white background when they are not frozen

Please be aware that freezing your requests keeps your place in line. If you freeze many items for an extended period of time and then unfreeze them all at once, you are likely to receive all of those items at the same time.
